About

Biblicon is written and produced by John A. Walsh.

Walsh is an Assistant Professor of Library and Information Science at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Walsh uses Web and other technologies to build humanities-based digital resources and tools to study issues related to complex documents—documents like seventeenth-century alchemical texts; nineteenth-century poems, plays, and novels; and twentieth-century and later comic books and graphic novels. Of particular interest in Walsh’s building and thinking are exposing multiple levels of document materiality, relationships between visual and textual information, intertextual relationships, and bibliographic complexity. More details about Walsh’s research projects, publications, presentations, and other scholarly activities may be found on his professional home page.

Walsh is also a singer, guitarist, and songwriter, recording and peforming with his band The Sinkholes.

Walsh lives in Bloomington with his beautiful wife, Michelle, and children Patrick, Olivia, Mia, and—expected to enter this world in April—Jude.
